Gonzaga Sweeps Top Three Places at Cardboard Boat Race

This year Gonzaga teamed up with Booth Memorial to participate in our first Cardboard Boat Race.  On Wednesday, December 19th, 58 students from the two schools traveled to Wedgewood Park to construct their own cardboard boats with nothing but cardboard and a roll of duct tape.  In teams of four the groups worked together on their designs for the morning and then one person from each team had to race their boat across the pool in the afternoon.  With 15 teams competing, Gonzaga was victorious taking first, second and third place!  Congratulations to all participants.  The winning teams include:

  • Third Place: Ben Dowden, Curtis Parrell, Jordan Blanchard and Luke Dyer
  • Second Place: Simon Pope, Jeremy Costello, Tyler Hobbs and John Peters
  • First Place: Alex Russell, Greg Healey, Luke Busby and Matthew Howard.
