Conception Bay South resident Jennifer Bent has been named as one of twenty-three young people from across the province to the Provincial Youth Advisory Committee. The 17 year old is joined by other high school students, university students and young people in the work force.
When making the announcement on Tuesday Premier Paul Davis said of the committee, “This committee will engage with Provincial Government departments, key organizations, and communities to enhance and foster youth perspectives.”
Jennifer is currently Vice President of Gonzaga High School Student Council and is in her senior year. She is a founder of the schools Mental Health Coalition and serves on a number of committees.
Jennifer is also an accomplished soccer player having attended Nationals on 3 occasions and has been selected to represent the province at the Atlantic All Star tournament six straight years. She has represented her school in soccer, softball, basketball and running. She’s been a finalist for the Conception Bay South Youth Athlete of the Year on three occasions.
As well Jennifer has just been awarded the Silver Medal in the Duke of Edinburgh program and is currently finishing work on her Gold Medal.
