Cappahayden to Aquaforte Hike, East Coast Trail
June 5 – 8, 2015
This hike will be full of beautiful woodlands, headlands, lookouts, lighthouses, waterfalls and the spectacular Spurwink Sea Arch. The hike is mainly rated moderate with the exception of a difficult section between South West River to Port Kirwan. More specific hike details are available at http://www.eastcoasttrail.ca/trail/trail_detail.php. Refer to posted East Coast Trail maps.
Due to the links between communities, this hike totals almost 50 kms. Some of this will be on the main roads so be aware and cautious. This is primarily a Gold Qualifying hike with three students completing Bronze and two students completing Silver.
