The Canadian Improv Games Newfoundland regional tournament was held this weekend. The Gonzaga improv team placed third overall out of ten teams in the region, and did themselves proud with two great nights of play.
On top of that, Gonzaga took home both special awards given out at the regional tournament. The Gonzaga team won the Spirit of the Games award, which goes to the team that best embodies the values upheld by the Canadian Improv Games (cooperation, learning, commitment to play). Rose Walters won the Mike Fardy award, which is given to the MVP of the tournament. As part of this award, Rose gets a scholarship to Improv University, which is a one-week intensive program held each summer at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Congratulations to all involved!
